Spiritual Warfare

Joan of ArcAs believers in Jesus Christ we belong to God. The enemy, Satan intends to frustrate, distract, and even suppress us by wearing us down. Spiritual warfare is a very weighty and serious battle. Aside from what God permits, the enemy has no authority over our life.

1 Peter 5:8 instructs us that our adversary, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for ( to obtain and posses) someone to devour.

Over the years I have witnessed those who have struggled with the enemy both physically and spiritually. Satan is real and his intention is to distract us from the work of spreading the good news of Jesus. Prayer is the answer to rebuking the work of the deceiver. Christ destroyed the work of the enemy on the cross and will humiliate him again at the final take down. In the meantime with the authority of Jesus’s name and by the power of the Holy Spirit and by His blood we can go to battle with prayer and supplication. We have assurance that God’s plan will not be thwarted, because of what Christ did upon the cross.

“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings”. 1 Peter 5:9

If you would like for me to show you what God’s word says about Spiritual warfare, I will come alongside you and together look at what His word says on this matter. I take this spiritual warfare that you are fighting seriously, so together we will put on the full armor of God, and take on this battle in some prayer time!

The Armor of God

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people”.  Ephesians 6: 10-18
